Book Launch: The Runner McGeogh
The Cavan Launch of The Runner McGough Book will take place on Monday 26th March at 7pm in the Hotel Kilmore, Cavan (Prior to the Cavan County Board Meeting).
The launch will be performed by County Board Chairman Gerry Brady.
John McGough
John McGough helped Cavan win two All Irelands in 1947 and 1948. His role in Cavan’s historic final win played in the Polo Grounds, New York, 1947 gained him notoriety but only few people knew his remarkable story.
The Runner McGough Book written by Tommy McGuire captures John’s story and records his success as a Scottish and Irish athlete, his Olympic silver medal win in 1906, his work with Cavan GAA, Celtic FC and Manchester United and much more.
