Well done to the 25 Coaches who completed the Foundation Coaching course in Football last weekend (pictured) in Kingspan Breffni Park. The Foundation course comprises of the Code of Ethics which was delivered by Andy McGovern and Barbara Fortune on Friday night and the Coaching section (theory and practical) on Saturday tutored by County Coaches Aidan McCabe and Andy McGovern.

Unfortunately the Foundation Course on December 17th has been cancelled as there are insufficient numbers – anyone who had their name down for this course will be notified as soon as more courses are scheduled early in 2017.

Last Saturday morning saw a number of Coaches complete their practical assessments for the Award 2 Coaching course on the 3G in Kingspan Breffni Park. This was the third weekend of the intensive course delivered by Ulster Council tutors and facilitated by Cavan Coaching and Games with the Under 14 and Under 15 Academy Squads taking part in Saturday’s assessments.

Cavan’s Coach Development Programme 2016/2017 continued on Monday night with the “Breaking Ball” workshop delivered by Shane McCann in Kingspan Breffni Park. This was the last workshop of the year but they will return in 2017 with “Goalkeeping” on 9th January, “Kicking for scores” on 30th January, “Kicking for possession” 20th February and finally on the 20th March “Performance Analysis”.
